What is joint and several liability?

If Things Go Wrong

In a shared tenancy, each tenant (and their guarantor) can be held liable for the entire
rent and other obligations—not just their share. If one housemate doesn’t pay, the
landlord can pursue any tenant/guarantor for the full amount (T&Cs 6.9–6.10). Choose
housemates carefully and understand the risks before signing.
