Confirmation of rent details

What the confirmation covers, who provides it, and what to do when it stalls.

Before a guarantor agreement is signed, the tenancy's rent, dates and parties are confirmed with whoever manages the tenancy. This is the confirmation of rent details, and every application needs one.

Who provides it depends on your company:

  • Master agreement — the details your company entered are the confirmation. Nothing further is requested, and the application moves to signing once the cosigner is verified. Outstanding entries appear under Action required → Rent details to confirm.

  • All other companies — the confirmation is requested by email from the tenancy manager (the letting agent, landlord or property manager named on the application) once the cosigner is verified. If that contact's email domain belongs to another partner of The Student Guarantor, the request appears in their portal instead of their inbox.

Progress is tracked on the application. If the request stalls, Resend request sends it again and Change recipient points it at a different contact.

Tenancy details lock once the service fee is paid, and again once the guarantor agreement is signed. After that, amendments go through support — use the support link on the application rather than asking the tenant to start over.
